Especially, tucked behind rolling hills of Gangapur and surrounded by the serenity of its calm climate, Sula Vineyards has got new avatar. Approximately, Sula Vineyards is 230 kms from Mumbai. Sula vineyards was founded by Mr Rajeev Samant in 1998. Initially, he experimented with the crops such as mangoes, roses and teakwood and then he realized that climate and temperature of Nashik is best for growing wine grapes. In consultation with Kerry Damskey, Samant set up the first winery in the Nashik region of India. Sula was named after Samant’s mother ‘Sulabha’.


Sula vineyards is the most famous winery in Nashik. It is said that because of Sula’s fame all over India, Nashik got the title as ‘Wine capital’. Apart from this, there are many other wineries in Nashik like York winery, Soma Winery and many more. But, Sula is an elegant and a world class establishment in its truest sense. The Sula has 23 elegant rooms, including the elegant duplex Tower Suite nature. The interesting thing is that the rooms of Sula are named after the famous wine growing region from across the globe and it’s a best place for wine lovers to enjoy here.


Sula vineyards is India’s largest and most popular winery. Also, It has developed into a world class winery that dominates the industry with market share of 65% in India. Apart from that, it also exports to about 30 countries around the world.

On the other hand, Sula’s dining gives relaxing experience as it has best of organic and wholesome food. Indeed, with decor inspired by Californian wineries, the Tasting Room is a great place to sample all the wines. Thus, tasting tours are very famous among day visitors of Sula Vineyards.

Restaurant ‘Little Italy‘ at Sula Vineyards is a partnership of traditional Italian food and our favorite wines. This beautiful restaurant has fresh organic ingredients from Sula’s own gardens. Similarly, all restaurants of Sula are open seven days of the week for lunch and dinner.

Fashionably, Wine is combined with music at the Sulafest, held at the winery in early February each year. Undoubtedly, Sulafest is one of the best party destinations for travelers and fanatics of wine, music, dance and live performances.

Tasting tour Cost:

Currently, 400 rupees for a tour and tasting of six wines, held every hour from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm.

Another key point of Sula Vineyards, variety of wines are available here like Rasa Cabernet, Brut Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc Late Harvest, Rasa Shiraz, Cabernet Shiraz, Zinfandel, Chenin Blanc, Brut Rose.

Famous activity at Sula Vineyards, Grape Stomping is also done at Sula Vineyards in which grapes are crushed barefoot participants  reportedly stomp on vats to release their juices and begin fermentation. Don’t forget to visit Sadhana Misal on the way.
