Sula vineyards was founded by Mr Rajeev Samant in 1998. Initially, he experimented with the crops such as mangoes, roses and teakwood and then he realized that climate and temperature of Nashik is best for growing wine grapes. In consultation with Kerry Damskey, Samant set up the first winery in the Nashik region of India. Sula was named after Samant’s mother ‘Sulabha’.
Sula vineyards is the most famous winery in Nashik. It is said that because of Sula’s fame all over India, Nashik got the title as ‘Wine capital’. Apart from this, there are many other wineries in Nashik like York winery, Soma Winery and many more. But, Sula is an elegant and a world class establishment in its truest sense. Tasting tour Cost:
Currently, 400 rupees for a tour and tasting of six wines, held every hour from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm.
