Revdanda Beach Camping in Alibaug gives you a way to stay on the beach at night which is a rare thing in India. So, the plan was confirmed and I booked a ticket from the official website of Revdanda Beach Camping. I paid the amount full in advance as my friends already been there and shared good reviews as well. It cost me INR 3000 for couple stay. It was a long weekend in March 2019 to celebrate my wife’s birthday.

How to reach Revdanda Beach camping?
Mumbai airport is the nearest airport. Revdanda campsite is located at 115 KM from Mumbai. You can either reach Alibaug beach camping by road or by ferry boats.
Road to Alibaug via Pen city is most beautiful but rainy season it’s not in good condition. Pune people can opt for Tamhini – Kolad – Alibaug route or Mumbai Pune expressway till Khopoli – Pen – Alibaug. From Alibaug campsite is just half an hour away. Alibaug is a major city in Raigad district of Maharashtra, plenty of state transport buses available. From Alibaug bust stand, hire Tumtum to reach Revdanda Beach camp. Tumtum will cost INR 50-100 per person.
This is the most scenic option available for Mumbaikars. But these ferry boats are not available during monsoon season. The Ferry boat trip from Gateway Of India, Mumbai to Alibaug (via Mandwa jetty) is in two parts i.e 1) Feery Boat from Gateway of India, Mumbai to Mandwa Jetty, and vice-versa and 2) Bus from Mandwa Jetty to Alibag Bus Stop, and vice-versa. Again, from Alibaug bust stand, hire Tumtum to reach Revdanda Beach camp.
This is not the most preferred route bust still available. Roha is the nearest station, just 40 KM from Beach Camping site of Revdanda. From Roha, one can opt for state transport to reach Revdanda.
Revdanda Beach Camping Season
Though Beach camp in Alibaug is open from Oct – June, winter is the best season to visit Revdanda beach for camping. Weekends are more crowded compared to weekdays. Best time to visit Revdanda beach camp is during year-end i.e. New Year celebration. Beach party with DJ is arranged for 31st Dec night.
My Beach Camping experience
As it was a long weekend, we planned to explore Alibaug. It was three days and two-nights plan. First-night stay of camping at Revdanda beach, Next day Murud Janjira fort visit and stay at Beachfront cottages at Kashid.
At noon, we started our journey by car. It was a hectic drive due to traffic and worst roads but we managed to reach on check-in time i.e. 4:30 PM. Beach Camp manager greeted us and asked to park the car in the parking area. There was a big parking area on the backside of the beach campsite.
Beach Tent Stay
We registered our name in the guest books and received tokens for food. There was a crowd of 50-60 due to long weekend but camp seems to have capacity more than that and have managed it perfectly. One of the camp guards asks to follow him. He showed us our sweet home i.e. Alpine tents for that night. The idea of overnight staying in tents that too on the beach was something new for both of us. I was happy that we got the front row with a clear view of Beach and sea. What else you want. Indeed, it was a good start of the weekend.
Immediately, we rushed to the counter to grab a delicious Pakoda dish. I poured extra sauce to not come again and again. With my highly balancing skills, I reached our tent carrying Tea and Pakodas. We sat down to enjoy. It was a great ambience. My wife was happy. It was altogether a romantic environment with romantic songs getting played by the camp manager.
At evening, we relaxed a bit on the beach. It was time for Sunset. It was the real-time that we were actually spending together. We went for an evening walk on the beach. We played with the waves, laughed, built sandcastles and breathed fresh air. Apart from that, clicked many pictures. Sun was turning yellow to orange. It was about to cross the horizon. Many people came to the beach and tried to capture the sun but he ran away. He drowned far away in the Arabian sea. Time flies so fast and you just stand and watch.
The most beautiful moments always seemed to accelerate and slip beyond one’s grasp just when you want to hold onto them for as long as possible. – E.A. Bucchianeri, Brushstrokes of a Gadfly
We returned to our Camping site, it was lightened up by that time and was looking marvellous. It was simple light set up but was more outstanding, soothing. Romantic songs turned into the party songs.
Campfire & Games
Many participants sat by the campfire to protect from the cold sea breeze. It was getting dark and cold. We preferred to sit by the tents and enjoy waves. That time, we realized that the sound of waves heals your souls, refresh your mind and prepares yourself for ambitions, goals.
It was sumptuous dinner by locals of Revdanda Village. It was a complete thali. My wife opted veg and I chose Chicken. Non-veg was yummy and veg – who tasted? The buffet was open till 10:00 PM. After that, the manager and team had dinner.
Night Tent Stay
The wind was in full force and our tent was shaking constantly. Immediately, she slept as we had played a lot on the beach. I preferred to stay awake to experience night. Actually, I have been to beaches. I have done a coastal tour of Konkan beaches. In fact, I have done Pune to Goa coastal bike ride. Today, I got the chance to explore the beach at night, to relax, to communicate with the sea. It was a peaceful night. After a long night walk, I slept.
Morning Beach Walk & Images
“Goooood Mooooorning”, someone yelled from outside. Morning chaos at campsite interrupted my sleep. We woke up to the beautiful sea view. It was the same beach, same place, same Arabian sea and yet another view, another shade, altogether different vibes. We went for a morning walk and photography session. We clicked many pictures as the light was bright.
Sitting on the beach and sipping a cup of hot tea was my dream come true. We had Kande Pohe and started packing our bags. It was time to leave the most memorable night stay of Revandand Beach. After check out, we explored Murud Janjira fort.
Overall, it was the one of a kind overnight stay of Revdanda Beach camping in Alibaug. Highly recommended for all. Do visit and share your experience with me. Do comment and share. Like my Facebook page and do follow my Instagram account.
