There is an important update on Bhimashankar trek via Shidi Ghat. There were two routes from Khandas to Bhimashankar, one is Ganesh ghat and other is Shidi ghat or ladder route. Now, everyone including trekkers, pilgrims and locals are requested to not opt for ladder route as ladders collapsed due to landslide in the area.

Bhimashankar is one of the 12 Jyotirlings dedicated to Lord Shiva. Visitors gathers in thousands for darshan. One of the route used by visitors and trekkers is through ladders. It is a dream trek for many trekkers, but now the route is closed. There were total three ladders on the route. It is said that it was bit difficult route even after using ladders on that route. Some portion and few rock patches were exposed to the valley.

As you can see in the pictures, it is almost a vertical climb which is difficult and more risky. To avoid risk and for safety purpose ladders were installed. This was the shortest trekking route to Bhimashankar from Khandas village.

We urged you to opt for another trekking route from Khandas village. Do not attempt or try to explore Shidi ghat till next update on the same. Ganesh ghat is also a very scenic and charming route to Bhimashankar temple.
Trekking community is expecting the ladders installation very soon but yet there is no confirmation on the same. Everyone is requested not to opt for Bhimashankar temple trek via Shidi ghat.
